From Contemporary Keyboard, August 1976

Kerry Minnear's approach to keyboards and progressive rock arrangement continues to astonish. The mewling sound of a Hammond organ being turned off is used repeatedly in "Another Show," perfectly complimenting the lyrics; harpsichord is used for the English Renaissance-influenced sections, giving way on "I Lost My Head" to a four-bar break in which harpsichord is combined with a slightly flat piano for a hair-raisingly funky effect; a single high synthesizer note twanging throughout "Give It Back" is the piece de resistance in a skewed reggae riff in 4-3-3-2 time; and so on. While too cerebral for some tastes, Gentle Giant's music is a nonstop source of delight for the perceptive listener.
