We Need Help!
Can you answer any of these Gentle Giant-related questions or requests? If so, please let me know! Also, feel free to suggest your own questions!
- CG Jarrells asks:
"What is the date/venue of the concert shown on the center pages of the
booklet that accompanies the Red Steel Music "The Last Steps" CD? My
interest stems from having personally handed Derek a mask cut from "Giant
For a Day" at a show the band did at the Peppermint Beach Club in Virginia
Beach, Va on the "Civilian" tour. Derek wore the mask for a couple of
songs, then handed it back to me. After the show, the band invited me back
to their dressing room and all of the autographed the mask.
Are the photos with the disc taken from that show?"
- I'm looking for pictures of twelve
Gentle Giant singles (45's).
If you have one, please scan and send it to me so we can complete
the set.
- A fan in Sweden reports seeing a remixed version of "Giant For a
Day" on LP. He writes:
"There was an additional guitarist mixed onto the tracks,
all or a few I cannot say. I saw it in a record shop over here in my
home town, Södertälje. New. Nothing fake."
Does anybody know anything more about this?
- Who were the female backup singers on "Mountain Time" from
The Missing Piece?
I asked Ray Shulman but he couldn't remember.
- Can you confirm or pinpoint any
mystery concert dates?
- Jeffrey Fox reports:
"I have heard from more than one source of the possibility of an
unreleased remaster of 'Three Friends' pressed on JVC vinyl by Mobile
Fidelity Sound Labs in the 1980s. One source claims to have actually
seen (and passed on) a copy of this LP, but I can't verify this
account. This MFSL LP seems have acquired somewhat of a legend
status, and I would love to verify if this album was actually pressed
by MFSL." Can anybody verify this?
- Does anybody have information on a
bootleg CD called "Three Friends Live?"
- Does anyone have more info, a track list, or a better cover scan for this Simon Dupree album?
