Riptyde

Riptyde is a band whose music is a mixture of hip-hop and progressive rock. Their album Sonic Undertow has a track, "Chasing Tsunamis," that contains a "reinterpretation" of a theme from the song Three Friends. The liner notes say about the keyboardist, Chris Hoard:

Hoard's influences range as wide as Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Steely Dan, with a portion of "Chasing Tsunamis" even re-interpreting a theme from the title track of Gentle Giant's classic, Three Friends.

According to fan Andy Kubicki, "It took some listening, and I don't think you'll hear it in the sample, but it does come in later in that track."
